Review Unit: The Real Number System
The last thing I wanted to cover in the Review Unit ties in to Unit 1 of the Interactive Notebook, the real number system. In 6th grade, the students learned to identify natural, whole, integers, rational and irrational numbers. Unit 1 in 7th grade is Rational Number Operations, so I thought it would be good to remind students of the number vocabulary that will be used in Unit 1. As usual, the best graphic organizer I could find was on the Math=Love blog. I also used her idea of creating a foldable out of Frayer Models folded in half. She has a Frayer Model template that has multiple models on one page (woohoo saving paper!). I would suggest having your students fill out the Frayer Models before cutting and pasting.
The "I Can" statements for this lesson is:
I can identify numbers in the real number system.
The IXL Lesson for this activity is:
A.10: Classify Numbers
